◆神の怒りという考え方はわたしたちの時代にとっては、どうも親しいものではなくなったようである。わたしたちは、神を怒りたける暴君、勝手気ままな行為をなす数々の激情と欲望を秘めた存在に仕立てあげるように思われる宗教は拒否してきた。神の怒りの意味は、そんなものではない。神の怒りとは、人生の法則が歪められるたびごとに、それに対して示される逃れることのできない、また避けることのできない対応であり、なかんずく人間の誇りと傲慢に対して示される反応である。この反応をとおして人間はその限界へと投げ返されるわけだが、それは神の側からの罰もしくは復讐の激情的な行為ではない。それは、神と人間のあいだのバランスの、人間が神に背いて自分を高く揚げたことで崩れていたバランスの建て直しである。
- Literal：The way of thinking called the anger of God was not a thing friendly for some reason for our times. We have refused the tyrant who can scold and burn God, much passion which acts willfully selfishly and the religion they seem to train as the existence in which desire was kept. The meaning of the anger of God isn't such one. When the law of the life is twisted, the anger of God is the correspondence that I cannot avoid again that cannot escape to be shown for it. It is a reaction to be shown above all for human pride and arrogance. Through this reaction, the human being is thrown to the limit back. It is not a passion-like act of punishment of God or the revenge. It is rebuilding of the balance between God and human beings that is the balance that collapsed because a human being fried oneself against God highly.
