◆反哺の孝 Hanpo no kou.
- 解釈：烏の子が成長して後、親鳥に餌を運んでその口に与え、養育の恩に報いるということ。烏でさえ親孝行をするのだから、人たる者は孝行の道を歩むべきだという教えである。ただし反哺しない烏もいて、こちらは「鴉」と書いて区別するという説もある。
- Literal：After having grown up, as for the crow, it is said that the crow carries bait to the parent and is dutiful to its parents.
- Interpretation：Man must also be dutiful such. Interpretation：An old man in a house is a good sign.
- 類義：烏鳥（うちょう）の私情。烏は親の養を育（はごこ）み返す。鳩は三枝（さんし）の礼あり、烏に反哺の孝あり。
