A12 尊敬の月 The month of the respect. ‐ ホピの予言 Prediction of Hopi. |

◇創造主は、人々が人らしく振るまわない世界を壊して、新しい世界を創ることにした。 The creator disturbed the world that people did not serve like a person, and he decided to make the new world. 歌を三つ歌うと大雨となり、四つ目の歌で大地が割れ、世界は水浸し。 When three of that sang, it was heavy rain. The earth could be divided by the fourth song. The world became soggy. 人々も動物も皆溺れ死んだ。 Everyone drowned and died people and animals. 創造主は、動物や鳥が総て入った聖なる袋から、水に潜れる動物を取り出し、地面を探させることにした。 The creator took the animal which could go into the water out of the sacred bag which all the animals and the birds entered. He decided to let them look for the ground. 水鳥、アシカ、ビーバーが失敗した後、やっと亀が水の底から泥を見つけて戻った。 After a waterfowl, a hair seal and a beaver were failed, a turtle finds and has gone back mud from the bottom of water finally. 創造主は泥を広げ、水面を乾いた大地にした。 The creator opened mud and made the surface of the water earth who dried. 「水が全くないのもまずい」と、海や川や湖も創った。 He said "It's also bad that it's just waterless." and also created a sea, a river and a lake. そして袋から総ての動物と鳥を放った。 And all animals and birds were thrown from a bag. それから赤、白、黒、黄色の土から男と女を創り、知識と言葉を与えた。 And he created a man and a woman from red white black yellow earth, and gave them knowledge and words. 「これで世界を創るのは三度目。人と動物と植物が助け合って仲良く暮らさなければ、また壊す」と言って、創建主は新しい世界を「亀の国」と名づけた。 The creator said "It is the third to make the world with this. I break it again if a person, an animal and a plant did not live by helping each other peacefully." He named the new world "the country of the turtle". そして、「やがては四つ目を創る羽目になるだろう」と独り言をつぶやきながら、休息に入った。 ‐ スー族の伝説 "It would be the situation that I create the fourth soon." and, he entered rest while murmuring thinking aloud. ‐ Legend of Sioux |
